Heather has been making websites since the dawn of this millennia. She has taken on many roles in the communications sphere including: webmaster, designer, developer, artist, project manager, event coordinator, and marketing specialist. She has had the pleasure to work with organizations like the Sacramento Public Library, The Nature Conservancy, The World Economic Forum, Sacramento State University, and the City of Rocklin.

Currently, she divides her time teaching web design and digital illustration at Sacramento City College, performing feats of web and print marketing for Sierra 2 Center, juggling freelance web projects and making fine art.

Why Is This Important?

Everyone needs a website. Period.

How Did You Discover WordPress?

While updating a hex color code manually in 6 places over a 25 page website I cried out in frustration, “There must be a better way!”

And I found it with WordPress.

How Do You Use WordPress?

  • I teach students how to build their portfolio sites. I teach them how to integrate social media, email marketing, and ecommerce.
  • I build sites for friends and small businesses.
  • I maintain a number of client and personal sites.
  • I help companies market their goods and services online — starting with WordPress and expanding to other platforms.

How Has WordPress Impacted You?

It’s my bread and butter, baby.

What Do You Do When Not Working?

Cook, travel, make art, learn, listen to audiobooks, be with my family, and enjoy life.
