Custom Post Types &38212; How To And Why
Why Is This Important?
I use Custom Post Types (CTP’s) often while building custom sites and feel that it’s one of the most powerful features of WordPress. I feel that it’s important for newer WordPress developers to know their options when it comes to setting up and using CPT’s.
How Did You Discover WordPress?
While working for an Agency I had been building sites with other content management systems but they were difficult to setup and use. My real shift to WordPress primarily came when custom post types were added to core. When that happened I was able to build pretty much anything that I could with other CMS’s when used with custom fields.
How Do You Use WordPress?
I build websites for business and churches using WordPress. I’m exploring ways to use WordPress as a backend from decoupled frontends.
How Has WordPress Impacted You?
It’s completely changed the trajectory of my career. I’m so thankful for the community that surrounds WordPress and it’s unlike any other platform I’ve used for delivering sites to clients.
What Do You Do When Not Working?
I’m a father of 3 children, they keep me pretty busy. I also like to cook, volunteer on the media team with my church, and all technology related to serving in that role like Video, Audio, and Lighting.
